REI:
VISUAL MERCHANDISING

Project: Enhancing the user experience and thus promoting sales at REI Co-Op by designing/installing attractive and intuitive displays aligned with the company's branding.

Welcome Display

Combining a life-like scene of gear in action with products and announcements staged nearby to draw customers' attention to the season's featured items and deals upon entering the store.

Pride/REI Display

Defining the "pride section" through color and theme cohesiveness, allowing products the opportunity to shine through more flattering placement, and creating unity between the pride display and the standard REI products next to it to ensure a smooth shopping experience for nalgene-seeking customers who want to know all of their options at a glance.

Branding Camping Furniture - Clearance Section

Creating a clearly defined, impossible to miss clearance section by rearranging the clearance items using the principle of proximity and labelling the area with large, simple text highlighted with the universal red "sale color".

Camping Table Display

Creating a tidy and attractive arrangement of all available camping tables for a more professional atmosphere that gives customers a clear idea of their options at a glance.

Helmet Sign Adornment

Bringing character and intrigue to a printed sign about bike helmets by framing it with hand-drawn bike chains and gears, and giving the sign a drawn and cutout helmet of its own.

Hand-Drawn Informational Sign

Supporting customers interested in Lollapalooza by providing them with helpful ideas and event details that also promote products in the store.  Providing specifics of the festival's prohibited items to prevent user pain points surrounding purchasing the wrong items and/or getting their purchases confiscated at the festival.

Ski Adornment

Bringing life and joy to the customers and ski display through a hand-drawn miniature ski scene applied to a pair of skis using paint markers.
