MISSION 2 ORGANIZE:
Animation & Static Post
Project: Creating two formats of social media content for a "Valentine's Day Gift Card" promotion for a small professional organizing business.
ANIMATION
TOOLS & SKILLS DEMONSTRATED:
I drew the heart characters using Sketchbook illustration software, and animated them using Canva.
I used Canva to include the background elements, titles, and title animation.
I wrote the script and then recorded the voiceover using Reason music production software.
I wrote/played/recorded the music and sound effects using Reason and my MIDI controller, so there would be no issues getting muted for copyright claims on social media channels.
I produced the video in iMovie, and wrote a caption that I felt would be concise enough to get people to read it, but detailed enough that users would know what to do next.
THOUGHT PROCESS:
I used a wide frame format so the video could be used across different online platforms without hiccups, but kept the imagery small enough that it would fit inside Instagram’s “square” cropping.
I incorporated "love languages" to create a personal connection with users. It would capture the attention of people who are familiar with love languages, while people who are not familiar with love languages can still see themselves or their loved ones in the heart characters.
I chose heart characters per their capacity to include and represent all populations and romantic pairings regardless of gender, race, age, sexuality, etc. This demonstrates equity and broadens the audience reach.
The colors of the background and the hearts were selected based on the company's brand kit.

STATIC POST
TOOLS & SKILLS DEMONSTRATED:
Designed on Canva using Canva's available graphics and fonts.
THOUGHT PROCESS:
I designed these to post together as two slides in one Instagram post - the sweethearts image first to reel people in, followed by the gift card slide to explain what is being sold.
I thought this would be a fun way to connect to both lovers and single folks, thus broadening the audience reach and helping single people also feel cared for on a holiday that doesn’t always acknowledge them directly.
I thought the candy hearts were a cute and abstract way to represent M2O’s organizing services.
I chose a shorter caption for this one, as less can be more when it comes to captivating readers and piquing their curiosity enough to take the next step in following the link.
